Conditions specifically for Emergency Roadside Assistance & Emergency Tyre Assistance

The use of this service is not a substitute for general service and repair of a motor vehicle. Our technicians will use best endeavours to get you back on the road, but where parts or additional labour is required we will provide a quotation for this. The initial call out charge includes the first 30 minutes of labour time to repair your vehicle.

Roadside Assistance will only ever provide a provisional diagnosis and where possible a temporary repair. You are always advised to have your vehicle checked in a workshop environment following a roadside breakdown.

If the fault is more serious and we cannot carry out a temporary repair, we will provide a full quotation for the work required. Should you choose to have this work carried out by someone else, you should always have the vehicle re diagnosed by the person undertaking the repair rather than rely on the provisional diagnosis at roadside. Any parts ordered should only be done so once a workshop diagnosis takes place and Westbourne Motors will accept no responsibility for parts incorrectly ordered.

Where a technician changes and wheel, you are advised to have this re torqued at a suitable workshop within the next 50 miles.

Although we aim to be with you within 60 minutes this is not a guaranteed arrival time. We will always give priority to vulnerable customers. Should you wish to cancel the service due to an extended eta please discuss this will our call centre, however once a vehicle has been dispatched a full call out charge applies and no refund will be given. Proof of dispatch can be supplied on request.

For Emergency Tyre Assistance times will generally be longer than 60 minutes as will need to source the correct tyre for your car. Our call advisor will contact you to agree this.

Conditions specifically for Emergency Vehicle Recovery

Quotations are provided on the basis that the car is accessible by the Recovery Vehicle i.e it can park directly in front or behind your vehicle to safely load it.

Additional charges may apply in the following circumstances – we will provide a quotation on arrival and following initial assessment

  • If our recovery vehicle cannot access your vehicle due to it’s location – note we do not allow recovery vehicles to access private driveways or other surfaces not specifically designed to cater for HGV vehicles. If you allow our vehicle to enter your property this is done solely at your own risk and Westbourne Motors will not accept a liability for damage caused
  • If the vehicle cannot steer or roll – this includes steering failure, vehicles locked in park or a mechanical failure meaning one or more wheels are not free to turn.
  • Vehicles that are loaded in excess of the Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) permitted.
  • The fixed price web service only applies to cars and vans up to 2500 GVM if on arrival your vehicle exceeds this, an additional charge will be levied.
  • Should we not be able to unload at your chosen destination meaning a further journey or the requirement to store the vehicle at a Westbourne Motors site and redeliver it an additional charge will be made.

Our call centre will be happy to discuss our pricing structure prior to dispatching our Recovery Vehicle.

When parts are fitted - Our Guarantee

On request all replaced parts are available for inspection at the time of collection. We operate a 12-month or 12,000 mile guarantee on all parts and workmanship (whichever is the sooner).

Should you have any queries or if you wish to make a claim against any part of our guarantee, please return your car to our nearest workshop for inspection by our manager. If you are unable to return to our workshop please contact our warranty department on 01444 480171 before commencing any work.

We use the latest equipment and only fit parts that are made to original equipment (OE) standards meaning you are guaranteed the highest levels of safety as designed by your vehicle manufacturer.

Your statutory rights as a Consumer are unaffected.
